Overview

Mental Health First Aid is a public education program that teaches risk factors and warning signs, how to provide initial help during a mental health or substance use crisis, how to connect someone with professional resources, and how to reduce stigma. The standard course is eight hours, with Youth Mental Health First Aid also available.

Mental Health First Aid teaches participants how to recognize the signs of mental health or substance use challenges, respond confidently during a crisis or non-crisis situation, and connect individuals with appropriate professional support. The course is designed for anyone who wants to better support friends, family members, coworkers, students, or members of their community.
