The integrated primary care clinics provide medical care including diagnosis and treatment of illness, conditions, and/or diseases to adults and minors actively linked to Tropical Texas Behavioral Health services.
Integrating primary care with behavioral health services reduces barriers for clients who already receive mental health or substance use treatment at TTBH, enabling them to access physical health care in the same setting.
Payment for Services: TTBH accepts many insurance plans including Medicaid and Medicare. Many services are available on a sliding fee scale, and TTBH will not refuse services to a person based on their inability to pay.
These are the services most commonly requested for Integrated Primary Care.
Individual, family, or group counseling that supports coping, recovery, and symptom management.
Diagnosis and treatment of general illness, acute conditions, and chronic disease.
Routine screenings, immunizations, wellness visits, and other preventive health services.
Ongoing management of diabetes, hypertension, and other chronic health conditions.
Laboratory testing that supports diagnosis, treatment, and medication monitoring.
Coordination and monitoring of psychiatric and medical medications.
Connection to specialists, treatment programs, and community resources.

Eligibility depends on the program, age, residence, clinical needs, and other program requirements. TTBH staff can explain the criteria that apply to a particular service.
Many services work with Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, or other funding sources when appropriate. Coverage and billing vary by service.
Lack of insurance does not automatically prevent someone from receiving services. TTBH staff can discuss available programs, funding sources, and payment options.
Costs vary based on the service, eligibility, insurance coverage, and available funding. Contact TTBH for information specific to your situation.
Contact TTBH as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Advance notice helps staff offer the appointment time to someone else.
TTBH follows applicable privacy laws and protects personal and health information. Staff can explain privacy practices and the limited circumstances in which information may need to be shared.
Integrated Primary Care is intended for eligible adults and minors who are actively receiving TTBH behavioral health services.
