Intellectual and Developmental Disability Services are provided for individuals upon graduation from high school or through the Early Childhood Intervention program up to the child’s third birthday. The public school system is the primary service provider after the age of 3 through graduation from high school.

However, a youth with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) may have an additional emotional or mental disorder that qualifies the youth for the Children’s Mental Health program.

Payment for Services: TTBH accepts many insurance plans including Medicaid and Medicare. Many services are available on a sliding fee scale, and TTBH will not refuse services to a person based on their inability to pay.

How do I request services?

How long does it take to begin services?

Timeframes vary depending on the service requested, clinical need, location, and appointment availability. TTBH staff can provide more specific information when you contact the organization.

Who is eligible for services?

Eligibility depends on the program, age, residence, clinical needs, and other program requirements. TTBH staff can explain the criteria that apply to a particular service.

Do I have to live in a certain county?

Many TTBH services are designed for residents within the organization’s service area. Contact TTBH if you are unsure whether a program is available where you live.

How are services selected?

Recommendations are based on an assessment of individual needs, preferences, strengths, and goals. The care team works with the individual or family to identify appropriate options.

Can I receive more than one service?

Yes. Many individuals receive multiple coordinated services when that combination supports their care plan and goals.

How often will I receive services?

The frequency and duration of services depend on the program, assessed needs, treatment plan, and progress toward individual goals.

Will my information remain confidential?

TTBH follows applicable privacy laws and protects personal and health information. Staff can explain privacy practices and the limited circumstances in which information may need to be shared.
